Research - Selime Kalesi

This research-based student project focused on the mapping of archaeological sites distinguished by their strong materiality and sculptural interplay of solid and void. Using Selime Kalesi in Cappadocia as a case study, students investigated the spatial logic of a Byzantine rock-cut settlement, engaging drawing and analysis as a way of understanding architecture formed through excavation, mass, and inhabited interiority.
