Dover Place was a significant remodel and re-decoration of a recently built spec house. We worked diligently with the owners and consultant team to bring personality, character, and warmth to a house that otherwise was quite neutral.

The brief involved substantial modifications to the ground floor social spaces, main staircase, and design for the back garden patio and pool areas.

The primary social spaces were enhanced through color and materiality to convey the owner’s personality and interests. One of the central aims was to make the ”house” feel like a “home” for both owners and their frequent guests.

One of the most rewarding aspects of working on Dover was getting into conversations about the owner’s interests and pursuits outside work and finding ways to celebrate that in the design. From preparing gourmet food to enjoying a fine collection of spirits, the new design painstakingly created unique environments through custom designed cabinetry and unique art and fittings.

Much emphasis was placed on creating pleasant, fun, and relaxing shaded outdoor spaces. A new steel trellis was designed, along with an adjacent outdoor kitchen, a new swimming pool, and a playground for children.
